IPPEC's Energy Efficiency Centre
Adjusting the heat output into the room at the boiler and at the emitter to suit occupancy comfort is our target. This way we use just the right amount of heat and thus save energy. This is not the case in many homes and buildings. They are often too hot and windows need to be opened to cool the occupants and energy is being wasted.

MultipleTemperature Control
Radiator TRV's helped in saving energy by stopping people opening windows when room became very hot. Now we use individual room thermostats to achieve the same thing automatically. Better still we can use programmable thermostats to vary the room temperature dependant on period of occupancy. This way the room is not heated to comfort level when not required. Such as bedrooms during the working day.
Multiple thermostat wiring to the boiler and heating circuits proves to be complicated. Multizoner new wiring centres by IPPEC simplify connections of several thermostats to the heating system whether it is radiators or underfloor heating. Please see Pexatherm temperature control.

Weather Compensation
This is a process where the output from the heating system is adjusted dependant on outside temperature. This type of control has become more important as our buildings are insulated to higher standards and the inside sensors do not recognise the outside daily temperature changes as quickly as before. The well known Delta weather compensator by IPPEC is described in the Pexatherm control section. IPPEC offers compensator for commercial and domestic buildings. The new Multizoner II C is another product from IPPEC that offers simple weather compensation. Please see Pexatherm temperature control.

Boiler and Pump Modulation
Modulating the flame in a boiler provides more precise input of heat to the heating system compared to cycling the boiler on and off. Reducing cycling improves boiler efficiency. Advanced temperature control with 'set points' modulate boiler temperature within set limits to reduce this cycling. Delta and Gamma controllers.
Keeping the heating pump running for a while after the the boiler is switched off, purges the heat from the boiler and into the heating system. This helps the boiler from overheating too. The pump overrun can be adjusted in controllers such as the Delta or Gamma.
