The Distribution Manifold
The manifold principle is behind PEXAPIPE advanced plumbing systems.  All the joints are at the manifold which is accessible at all times. There are no joints in the floor or ceiling. IPPEC supplies manifolds in many sizes and outlets.

The Outlets
All the outlet in a bathroom or kitchen connect back to the manifold.. Most of the outlets are single or double elbows. The other most popular end fitting is the PEX to M or F thread or to copper compression or solder. Thus the amount of different fittings carried is greatly reduced.

The PEX Plumbing Packages

The Secondary Loop
This package consists of a 2, 3 or 4 way manifold connecting to the outlets in the bathroom, kitchen or utility room. The package also contains the manifold brackets and some end plugs or caps.
The wall plate single or double elbow are part of the package. One secondary manifold is required when connecting bathroom next to each other or kitchen and laundry room next to each other.
The Primary Loop
This package connects the secondary manifold to the rest of the plumbing system. Either to another manifold or back to the cylinder or boiler.
Elbows or straight couplers are supplied for PEX 25 or larger to connect to the manifolds to the supply.
The primary loop includes the secondary return in the case of domestic hot water.

The Combined Loop
Some plumbers choose the secondary loop only. Preferring to do the primary in copper. Other go all the way and choose both loops.
Sometimes we combine both packages in one manifold such as in the case of supplying cold water to the ground floor and to upstairs from one manifold.
