Thanks for your letter
dated 2nd October (received last week) advising me of the approved installers.
In fact, someone at Ippec had already rung me with their number.
They were able
to fix my heating system, which is now working very well, and I am very grateful
to them, and you for supplying their details. Thanks very much. F. Lewis, Devon.
The PEXATHERM Ceiling Heating & Cooling Systems
| A new high performance system, providing an alternative solution to floor heating | ||

Let
the sun in The new Pexatherm Ceiling system is ideal for existing buildings and extensions where floors cannot be disturbed or unsuitable for underfloor heating. The thin layer of plasterboard only covering the system makes it a high performance system since there is little resistance to heat transfer from pipe to room. Hence the response time of Pexatherm ceiling heating is much faster. The water temperature in the ceiling is even lower that in the floor with underfloor heating making the system even more efficient when used with condensing boilers and heat pumps. |

Details The heat ouput from the Pexatherm PEX-ALU-PEX pipe is diffused into black aluminium plates which are in contact with the plasterboard. The heat is then transfered into the ceiling and radiates throughout the room. the Pexatherm ceiling system uses the same underfloor heating manifold to distribute the heating pipe to different rooms. Thermostat and actuators at the manifold are used to control the temperature in each room. Again as in the Pexatherm underfloor heating system. Water temperature in the ceiling is also controlled by a mixer or at the heat source to regulate the output of the system. |

Cooling By virtue of its position, the ceiling system can cool the room when chilled water is run in the pipes. The cooled ceiling surface cools the layer of air in contact with ceiling which then creates gentle convected resulting in the cooling of the whole room. Only cool water at about 10 deg. C need be used, requiring no or little refrgiration, to achieve comfort cooling temperature. |
