Frequently Asked Questions
Quickframe Bathroom
Structures
Can I use Quickframe with
any plumbing system?
Yes. Quickframe is also suitable for jointed pipe system such as rigid
copper pipe as any leaking joints become accessible. It is, of course, perfect
with the PEXAPIPE advanced plumbing system with isolatable manifolds.
Can I use any bathroom
sanitary ware with Quickframe?
Almost all European sanitary ware can be used with Quickframe. See the list
of manufacturers in the Quickframe section . The WC module has adjustable bolt
holes to suit different pan hole positions.
What is the minimum
depth of the frame from the existing wall?
The overall minimum depth from wall to finished panel is about 200 mm. The cistern
in the WC module is about 140 mm deep and 180 mm with the frame and before panelling
over.
What do I use to cover
the frame?
Most paneling material can be used to cover the frame. This
includes fibre boards, wood or plastic panels and plaster boards. Even
plasterboard with insulation backing can be used. It has the benefit of reducing
further noise from pipes. Make sure you stagger the joints and then finish with
plaster or tiles etc.
How do I fix the boards
or panels to the frame?
IPPEC supplies self drilling and tapping counter sunk screws to fix
boards to metal frame. Alternatively some plumbers and carpenters use padded
double sided adhesive strips.
Hint
When using the frame for a shower
surround, line with polythene sheet first before applying paneling. This will
help in avoiding leaks from the shower through the tile grout later.
How do I cut the
frame?
Use a metal hacksaw. Better still use a hand held angle grinder
with a steel cutting disc. Be sure to protect you eyes and hands.
How do I know how
much power the solar panals give?
At a third of sun shine per year the output of panels is about 1600 kWhr pa.
