The Hidden Benefits of Pexatherm Underfloor Heating
Mandatory floor insulation in Germany led to the widespread use of warm water floor central heating and more than 30 million square metres have been installed in homes and the work place in that country in the last decade.
Saving Energy
The principle of using the large surface area of the floor as a low temperature heat emitter to save energy is well understood.  (Even more energy is saved when the warm water heating the floor is heated by condensing boilers which are now widely available). Conventional radiators at such low temperature would have to be unacceptably large.
Pexatherm employs the latest in design and  material technology of underfloor heating.  PEX pipe with oxygen diffusion barrier, multi-layered pipe and different types of floor insulation, temperature compensation control etc.
Space Design
Changes in lifestyles, desire for comfort, better space utilisation and environmental issues are forcing us to look at the new heating alternatives.  Fitted kitchens, and bedrooms, patio windows, wall units, full length curtains, wall and floor tiled bathrooms, are all desired features in a modern home.  And they all compete with radiators for wall space.  Market research in Germany has shown that the practical benefit of floor central heating in interior design is the major reason for its

widespread adoption.
Radiant heat from the floor ensures even warmth throughout the house.. Large areas with or without high ceiling benefit from the system since reduced convection eliminates draughts. Open plan design houses become a possibility in our climate and not are restricted to Californian or Mediterranean countries.
Pexatherm
low temperature heating avoids high air temperature, thus reducing condensation. Cold tiled floors become warm, dry and inviting in kitchens conservatories and bathrooms.  This reduction in condensation is another benefit of Pexatherm floor central heating in well insulated homes, solving the need for expensive ventilation systems.

A Thoroughbred
No heating system will last in the market place if it is not of the highest quality, well designed and economical to install. IPPEC supplies the well proven and the very best of PEX pipe (Cross linked high density polyethelene).  The pipe which has an oxygen barrier, is continuously tested and meets the most stringent European specifications such as the German Din and our WRC standard.  The Pexatherm pipe-in-screed/concrete stapler system is a market leader. It uses easy prefabricated components which are easy to install, and hence cost effective.  The laminated insulation layer - Multiboard -  is also the pipe fixing panel allowing the flexibilty of variable pipe spacing to cater for all types of rooms and floor covering.
The pipe is easily and quickly stapled directly onto the Multiboard insulation. As an alternative IPPEC supplies pipe fixing rails which can be used with any insulation. No difficult wire mesh is used in any Pexatherm system.  Large diameter 17mm or 20mm PEX pipe means that long pipe runs can be used without excessive drop in temperature and only one manifold is needed per floor, to which all the heating pipes neatly converge.

The Pexatherm Pipe-in-Plate system is extensively used in suspended and floated timber floors.  The multi-grooved aluminium  plates diffuse the heat from the pipe to the floor to give high heat output and fast response time from the timber floor.  The rest of the system is as in the staple system
.Staying in Control
A wide range of temperature controls includes water temperature mixers (now built into the manifold), individual room or zone temperature control and optionally, advanced weather compensator - programmers.

Mix and Match Heating
The Pexatherm system can be used with radiators on the first floor or in other areas in case of extension or renovation. A full range of PEX pipe and fittings connect all types of radiator to the heating system. To complete the installation, larger diameter PEX primaries connect all heating and plumbing manifolds to the boiler and cylinder.
Comprehensive Service
A project dossier with computer aided drawings, showing pipe layout, a table of  pipe spacing and lengths, are provided with each project.  The  detailed instructions and  wiring diagrams for controls ensure successful installation. The system components and the design procedure comply with established German DIN standards. Furthermore regular training seminars are held in our well equipped training centre where all systems are on display and - or in operation.

The Complete Heating & Plumbing Package
IPPEC
uses the up-to-date technology of PEX pipe to supply an integral solution to heating and plumbing in individually tailored packages. Unvented hot water storage and distribution with secondary circulation, isolation at manifolds and outlets, joint-free concealed pipes in conduit are some of the Pexapipe plumbing advanced features. Many clients are recognising the advantages of new technologies, and in particular the benefits of Pexatherm floor central heating and Pexapipe plumbing.  These benefits could not be more obvious.
Innovations

Pexatherm has warm water heating panel modules which are suitable for floors, wall and ceiling. The lightweight panels are also used for chilled ceilings.
